SHOP MANAGER

Due to our continued growth within our Kindret Landscaping Group of Companies, Maintenance, and Snow divisions, KL Group is looking to add an Automotive Shop manager position to its workforce.
The ShopManager is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the equipment maintenance facility with a positive and pro-active approach to maintenance.
Duties and responsibilities

Schedule pre-season inspections and maintenance to enable completion prior to equipment being required.

Schedule and assign tasks to ensure completion to meet the needs of the maintenance and construction divisions.

Interact with other managers to determine needs and prioritize shop time.

Ordering of parts and supplies to ensure acceptable levels to prevent unscheduled downtime.

Opening, pricing, and closing of work orders.

Keeping equipment and vehicle files current.

Update shop database.
Job Description
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative duties of the shop, as well as perform light repairs and maintenance on vehicles & equipment.
Required Duties:
-
Light maintenance & repair of vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
-
Light maintenance & repair of small engine equipment.
-
Create, update and present shop reports to management on a timely basis.

Ensure shop databases are updated and current.

Other duties as designated.
General Responsibilities:
-
Analyze and report on the department's daily and monthly operations. Review and maintain shop budgets and proper expenses.

Keeping abreast of all federal, provincial, and local regulations that affect service operations.

Ensuring fleet compliance with all OEM and vendor policies and warranty procedures.

Oversee and manage vehicle and equipment repairs with private and public insurance agencies.

Contact third-party vendors for parts, repairs, and supplies.
-
Source and ensure best price purchasing for parts, out-of-shop repairs, and supplies.

Enforcement of the company’s COR safety program.
Qualifications
-
A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in automotive and small engine equipment mechanical maintenance & repair.

A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in shop administration and database management.

Training or education in basic accounting or related fields.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skill is essential.
Working Conditions
Full days will be required during landscape season, with the expectation of around 50 hours per week. Weekend work or late evening work may be required to maintain project schedules.
