PROJECT ESTIMATOR

Design, Quoting, Project Tracking | Full-Time (Summer).

Kindret Landscaping Group is a Winnipeg based Landscape Design/Build & Maintenance company. We are an award-winning, team-oriented, full-spectrum landscaping operation. Our services include commercial & residential landscape design and construction, year-round maintenance, and snow removal in the winter months.

 

As a result of continued growth and demand, we are currently seeking the services of an experienced full-time Landscape Estimator to join our team. The position available is full time, year-round.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Review, understand and evaluate tender documents and drawings.

  • Visualize the work entailed, and prepare a detailed plan to execute work in an efficient manner.

  • Understand the principles involved in bid preparation including quantity take-off and closing procedures.

  • Identify risks associated with contract documents.

  • Adeptly calculate material, labor, and equipment and analyze quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.

  • Multitask, manage and meet priorities and deadlines.

  • Prepare schedules and track progress.

  • Establish strong working relationships with client consultants, subcontractors, and employees.

  • Conduct all activities in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees, trades, clients, and visitors.

 

The successful candidate should also possess:

  

  • Strong understanding of the equipment used in landscaping projects (ex. loaders, skid steers, excavators).

  • Horticultural experience, plant identification & turf knowledge, as well as, landscape hard surface applications will be considered an asset.

  • Highly effective negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Project) software

  • A high level of proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening).

  • Have a diploma in Landscape Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and related experience, with a minimum of 2 to 5 years estimating in related landscape projects.

 

Work Details:

 

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40+ hours per week. Incidental evening and/or weekend hours will be required depending on company needs and weather. 3 weeks’ vacation (15 business days).

 

Compensation

Kindret Landscaping offers competitive compensation, as well as, a benefits package for the right individual. Salary will be commensurate with the skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience of the successful candidate.
